The Unbound (The Archived #2)

Coming January 28, 2014!

Imagine a place where the dead rest on shelves like books. Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures that only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.

Last summer, Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper tasked with stopping violent Histories from escaping the Archive, almost lost her life to one. Now, as she starts her junior year at Hyde School, she’s struggling to get her life back. But moving on isn’t easy — not when her dreams are haunted by what happened. She knows the past is past, knows it cannot hurt her, but it feels so real, and when her nightmares begin to creep into her waking hours, she starts to wonder if she’s really safe.

Meanwhile, people are vanishing without a trace, and the only thing they seem to have in common is Mackenzie. She’s sure the Archive knows more than they are letting on, but before she can prove it, she becomes the prime suspect. And unless Mac can track down the real culprit, she’ll lose everything, not only her role as Keeper, but her memories, and even her life. Can Mackenzie untangle the mystery before she herself unravels?

With stunning prose and a captivating mixture of action, romance, and horror, The Unbound delves into a richly imagined world where no choice is easy and love and loss feel like two sides of the same coin.

  1. I devoured The Archived yesterday, while waiting in line. It is splendid. Original and scary, hilarious and smart. Was elated to see the sequel is coming. Congrats.

I discovered The Archived yesterday afternoon through the $0.99 sale, and now I’ve just finished The Unbound. What a wonderful and wonderfully written series!!! Thank you for something fresh, thought-provoking, and thoroughly enjoyable. Although the two novels can certainly stand on their own, I do hope a third installment makes it’s way to the page at some point; I’d hate to say goodbye to such dynamic characters!!!

Just finished reading The Unbound and I’m left with wanting more! Read it in just one day; i didn’t want to put it down. Can’t wait to find out what happens next!

  5. Wow, this story will probably haunt me even in my dreams. I finished these 2 books and all I could think of was.. how amazingly-beautiful the writing was, how imaginative the world, how full of emotion the main character.. Absolutely wonderful!

…And I wanted you to have my first words, before I sit down to review it.
I love this series! Can’t wait for a 3rd book – if there will be one.

Ive read both of your books and i am in love with them. But im also a little upset. The end of Unbound is a huge cliff hanger. Will you please write more books with Wes and Mac? I need to know if they make crew and the future status of their relationship. i want to know how she deals with being a keeper, or crew and attending school, or even getting a job other than the cafe. I NEED to know Wes’s first name. All of these thing are running through my mind and i need answers. Will you please supply me with those answers?

Gracias Victoria
